Self-driving Taxi
A team of professors at Freie Universitat Berlin have been in the process of developing autonomous cars. This self-driving taxi drives without a person in the car behind the wheel. It has 3 cameras, a velodyne laser scanner, GPS, odometer, radars and lux laser scanners attached to the car. It also has a variety of embedded processors. The car was made in Germany. It has a companion iPad app from Appirion. You just start the program, type in the coordinates and wait for the car to extract itself from a parking lot. Its very cool. Watch the video to see it in action.
